The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Delaware invites applications for a temporary assistant professor position, to support the Department's teaching needs. This appointment will commence September 1, 2021, and will last for one year.
The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a 3+3 load that will include a subset of the following courses:
First Language Development
Introduction to Speech and Hearing Science
Introduction to Cognitive Science
Research Methods in Cognitive Science
Elements of Cognitive Science
Topics in Cognitive Science
A graduate seminar in an area of specialization
This position will also be responsible for some undergraduate student advising.
Applicants for this position should have a PhD in Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or a related field. Applicants should submit a CV, cover letter outlining their qualifications, teaching experience, and approach to student advising and three contact references.

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science (https://www.lingcogsci.udel.edu) offers a PhD in Linguistics, a Master's degree in Linguistics and Cognitive Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science (with a concentration in Pre-Professional Speech-Language Pathology), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. The Department is comprised of 11 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 30 PhD students, 11 MA students, 300 undergraduate majors and 84 minors. The Department also has ties to a Clinical Master's Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders. This program includes a Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic (http://sites.udel.edu/cscd/clinic/), which opened in fall 2015.
