CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

The Office of the University Registrar manages information systems, maintains students’ academic records, and provides educational support services for the University community. The Registrar’s Office includes units overseeing the following: Scheduling, Registration & Academic Records, Advising Support, Student Systems Administration, Transfer Credit and Student Services.

Under the general direction of the Senior Associate Registrar, the Assistant Registrar for International and Special Populations manages credit posting, course equivalencies, grading and scheduling for different student populations and units that have unique needs and processes. This includes semester programs abroad offered through UD’s Center for Global Programs and Services (CGPS), Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) and other international Dual Degree agreements, students matriculating from the English Language Institute, and other specialized populations. This position will work closely with multiple units across campus and within the Division of Enrollment Management, as well as other external constituents, helping students incorporate their academic work into their UD degree.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee CGPS, SWUFE, and other international partner school approvals and course equivalencies in the Transfer Credit Matrix, managing scheduled departmental reviews, ensuring that classes taught abroad accurately align with UD’s current curriculum.
  • Review and interpret international transcripts for Dual Degree students, confirm grade scales and credit ratios, maintain equivalency matrices, and facilitate posting of credit.
  • Work with CGPS to build/maintain UD course sections taught on UD semesters abroad, enroll students, interpret international and School of Record transcripts, and post grades. Transfer credits from external institutions for UD semester abroad and exchange programs which use this model.
  • Work with CGPS, Lerner College and other units to calculate custom drop/add and academic penalty deadlines for courses taught outside the official schedule of classes.
  • Liaise with our international credential evaluation partner to research accreditation and credit/grade equivalencies for UD partnerships, assisting the Senior Associate Registrar with the review of new international articulation agreements.
  • Assist the Graduate College Registration Assistant and the Associate Registrar for Grading, Registration and Degree Conferral to process changes to records for graduate students, assisting with graduate transfer credit, degree conferral, and other areas as needed, on an as needed/as time allows basis.
  • Connect with peer institutions and professional organizations to review and research best practice in the field of international transfer, test credit, course management, and other areas as needed. Assists the Assistant Registrar for Grading-on-grading issues and the Scheduling team on an as needed/as time allows basis.
  • Assist the Associate Registrar for Transfer Credit with posting traditional undergraduate transfer and other credit during peak periods (May-September) on an as needed/as time allows basis.
  • Explore opportunities to expand international test credit acceptance.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with international curricula, transfer credit, policy interpretation, program planning and implementation required; knowledge of international transfer credit and converting foreign credentials into US credits is a plus.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration, Tableau, Google productivity tools, and Microsoft Office tools highly desired.
  • Possess the highest degree of integrity and maturity due to the sensitive, confidential nature of students' records.
  • Possess strong organizational skills, be able to work independently and collaboratively, effectively manage multiple projects and can analyze and solve problems in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent oral, written and customer service skills, and the ability to interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of University of Delaware policies and procedures and campus facilities.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to make administrative/procedural decisions.
  • Ability to manage financial and human resources effectively.
