The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Tenure-track, in phonological development. The position is expected to begin on August 16, 2025. Applicants for this position should have a Ph.D. in Linguistics, Cognitive Science or a related field. These efforts include support for established programs, such as the RISE academic and summer programs, and new programs such as the DSU-Summer Engineering Research Experience (SERE), the COE REU collaborative, and the COE Living Learning Community (LLC).

Osher Lifelong Learning at the Wilmington campus is a membership organization which, in cooperation with the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies, provides opportunities for cultural and intellectual development for individuals age 50 and older. OLLI-W delivers over 600 classes annually to approximately 3000 dues-paying members and has an annual operating budget of $1.7M. Membership currently includes working and retired faculty, educators, lawyers, doctors, accountants, musicians, engineers, industry chemists among many others. Arsht Hall serves as the home for the OLLI-W program.
Under the general direction of the Director, the Program Coordinator works closely with the Institute’s Curriculum Committee to oversee the development, implementation, and administration of this dynamic non-credit program, with more than 250 enthusiastic, creative, and energetic volunteer instructors teaching each fall and spring semester and during summer session. Responsible for in-person curriculum, housed in Wilmington and Newark, the Wilmington program coordinator will work in collaboration with a program coordinator in Kent/Sussex Counties and an online program coordinator. Program management, employee management and experience with customer service or senior populations, coupled with exceptional customer service skills are necessary for a candidate to be successful in this position. Commitment to a team-based approach and the ability to prioritize tasks and function in a fast-paced workplace are key. |

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Delaware in Kent and Sussex Counties is a year-round membership cooperative providing in-person and online lifelong learning courses and programming for the educational, cultural and intellectual benefit of roughly 500 members, from age 50 and up, with an average age of 73. These programs, primarily located in Dover, Lewes, and Ocean View, hold two full semesters and one summer session with more than 300 in-person, online and hybrid courses taught annually by more than 100 volunteer instructors. OLLI in Kent and Sussex Counties is one of two OLLIs at the University of Delaware, along with OLLI in Wilmington.
