Faculty Position - Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
The Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in catalysis and/or related fields; the appointment can be made at any rank commensurate with accomplishments.
REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. or equivalent in chemical engineering or a related field.
DUTIES: The successful candidate will be expected to develop and lead a vigorous and nationally recognized research program; teach and advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and participate in and contribute to the departmental and larger professional community. Applications in catalysis and related areas will be considered; we particularly seek applicants with expertise in areas such as multi-scale catalytic materials, new processing schemes, in operando spectroscopy, or theoretical and computational chemistry with data- and systems-driven approaches, especially those with interests that synergize with the Catalysis Center for Energy Innovation and the Center for Plastics Innovation. Current catalysis and energy research in the department includes novel materials for fuel cells, CO2 capture and use, hydrogen generation and storage, chemicals and fuels from biomass, photovoltaics, batteries, energy storage, and the chemical transformation of waste into fuels, lubricants, and other valuable products. We seek candidates who will contribute, through high quality research and teaching, to the continued improvement of our department’s national standing and visibility.
