The Partnership for Public Education (PPE) is a University-wide initiative, housed within the University of Delaware’s Community Engagement Initiative and the Office of the Provost, stemming from the commitment of the College of Education and Human Development and the College of Arts and Sciences to public education in Delaware.  The mission of PPE is to bring together members of the University of Delaware and the broader Delaware educational community—including educators, families, and community leaders —to identify shared needs and opportunities and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge.  PPE strives to foster partnerships and leverage university resources to support P-12 public education in Delaware. Under the general direction of the Director, the coordinator will work to support the overall mission and vision of the Partnership.



  • Manages daily activities and supports ongoing projects for the Partnership. 
  • Relationship-building with University and P12 partners. 
  • Responsible for four main activities:
    • managing all PPE communications; (connect with University faculty, staff, students, and P12 partners; prepare monthly newsletters; craft content and update the website; respond to partnership inquiries and writing the annual report. 
    • coordinating events for the Partnership;
    • representing PPE at events and meetings across UD and the state, and
    • supporting and monitoring PPE fellowships and grants. 
  • Event planning includes staff, steering committee and partner coalition meetings, as well as occasional seminars, and campus-wide events – including PPE’s Annual Partnership Academy. 
  • Representation of PPE across UD and in the state of Delaware includes regular engagement and correspondence with University and P-12 representatives and involves the ability to articulate and contribute to the vision and mission of PPE in meetings and public forums. 
  • Manage and provide support for ongoing PPE initiatives - partnership projects, fellowships, grants, brief writing, etc. - and take initiative for the development of additional work and partnership projects as the opportunity arises.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor's degree with three years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience in education, partner building, and event planning.
  • Knowledge of Delaware’s P-12 education system preferred.
  • A commitment to education improvement and advancement of equity.
  • Ability to effectively interact and establish working relationships with University colleagues and external partners, including excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and to establish and adjust priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to perform a range of tasks independently and calls for motivation, initiative, independent judgement, and great organizational ability.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, anticipate issues and proactively seek resolutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and technological literacy to support communication through social media, data visualizations, and Sharepoint.
  • Ability to effectively interact and establish working relationships with University colleagues and external partners, including excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
