CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

The Assistant Director is responsible for functional oversight of the admissions Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System, Slate. The Assistant Director maximizes the effective use of the Slate to achieve unit goals and objectives. The incumbent will serve the mission of University of Delaware by working collaboratively with Undergraduate Admissions and campus partners to achieve student recruitment, outreach, admissions and enrollment objectives through the effective use of the University's CRM tools.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement business processes, training and operations within the CRM to support admissions and recruitment processes and to create efficiencies.
  • Assist in system troubleshooting and maintenance including updating user access, forms, events, rules, fields, and portals to ensure continual functioning of admissions processes.
  • Manage yearly and ongoing updates related to application management (i.e., workflows, decision letters), populations, queries, reports, electronic communications functions and other technical processes using a variety of software applications.
  • Develop end-user training and documentation for admissions staff and campus partners.
  • Review first-year and transfer applications for undergraduate admission.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective and admitted students and maintain communication with students throughout the admissions process.
  • Conduct admissions recruitment travel by attending college fairs, panels, and other events within assigned recruitment territory. Develop relationships with school counselors, students and parents within this territory.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of direct or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in software development, processing, or related fields.
  • Experience with Customer Relations Management (CRM) software.
  • Effective writing, editing, oral communication, project management and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Must be familiar with HTML, Microsoft Office, presentation and content management tools (e.g., Adobe and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community required.
  • Knowledge of student recruitment, retention issues and admissions standards.
  • Ability to multitask, to work independently, and to work as a team member to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment independently.
  • Experience in a college admissions office is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.

Special Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and regular access to private reliable means of transportation required.
  • During the spring and fall, this position will require travel and working extended hours on occasional weekends and weekdays.
