Assistant Professor, Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science Newark
Temporary Assistant Professor, Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Delaware invites applications for a temporary assistant professor, to support the Department's teaching and advising needs. The appointment is expected to begin on August 16, 2024, and will run until August 31, 2025, with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of three years. We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to undergraduate education. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Department’s programs in Cognitive Science and Linguistics. Expertise in language acquisition and/or cognitive science is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a subset of the following courses: Introduction to Cognitive Science; Introduction to Linguistics; First Language Development; Topics in Cognitive Science; Psycholinguistics. Also desirable are Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism; Structure of English; Sociolinguistics; Languages of the World. The successful candidate is also expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the department and the university. Applicants for this position should have a PhD in linguistics, cognitive science, or a related field. Applicants should submit a CV, a short cover letter, and a teaching statement outlining their teaching experience and potential for teaching excellence. Course evaluations and sample materials (e.g., syllabi), if available, may be appended to the teaching statement. Candidates should also arrange to have three letters of reference submitted through UD’s online job application system.

Financial Coordinator, Core Facility Finance & Operations Newark/Hybrid
The Core Facility Finance & Operations unit is a centralized team dedicated to supporting all core facilities reporting to the Research Office. The core facilities support research and teaching for multiple departments and colleges at the University of Delaware as well as users from external universities and corporations. These highly specialized facilities provide shared user access to cutting-edge capabilities that enable competitive research that would otherwise be too costly for individual researchers to support. Under the direction of the Manager, Core Facility Finance & Operations, the Financial Coordinator performs complex financial, reporting, and administrative duties for the unit. In addition, the team is charged with ensuring compliance with federal service center and UD policies, with financial oversight governed by 2CFR200, Uniform Guidance. The specialized knowledge of the Core Facility Finance & Operations unit ensures streamline data gathering, support of multiple billing platforms, collaboration with core directors, and other university departments for consistency and compliance in rate setting, overall operations, and budget management.
Physical Therapist III Newark
The Staff Physical Therapist is involved in direct patient care of patients in the University of Delaware Physical Therapy Clinic. The Physical therapist is an integral component of the physical therapy clinic and physical therapy department. This position will be responsible to supervise Doctors of Physical Therapy students during patient care as well as have a role in the mentoring of junior staff therapists in Residency and Fellowship training. This involves guidance and consultation with direct patient care. The Physical Therapist functions independently when given instruction of academic and clinical needs to be addressed. This person is expected to maintain communication with the department, for administrative and research components as well as communication with the faculty of other physical therapy institutions on issues of clinical education and specialty area development. This position has an administrative component that is related to needed projects including protocol development and the student interaction with the clinic environment. This person is also an experienced professional who can provide expert advice and consultation to the department and clinical staff in the areas of Residency and Fellowship Development.
