Post Doctoral Researcher, Department of Biomedical Engineering Newark, DE
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Delaware seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance brain magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) research under the supervision of Professor Curtis Johnson. Supported by NIH and Delaware Community Foundation funding, the position focuses on developing fast, high-resolution MRE methods to study brain mechanical properties in aging, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia risk, contributing to major longitudinal studies such as the Delaware Longitudinal Study of Alzheimer’s Prevention. The University of Delaware offers a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment with access to state-of-the-art imaging facilities, including 3T Siemens Prisma and 9.4T Bruker MRI scanners, with a new 3T Siemens Cima.X system arriving in 2026. The role supports independent research, international collaboration, and dissemination of findings through publications and presentations.

This is an open-rank search targeted towards candidates with demonstrated leadership/administrative experience. This position will have workloads in research, teaching, and service , with the ratio in each category to be negotiated with the department chair and subject to change based on departmental needs. A major component of this position will be to serve as Director of the new M.S. program in Quantitative Systems Pharmacology, which launched in 2025. This innovative new program prepares students to apply QSP to model-informed drug development at all stages of the drug development pipeline. The ideal candidate for this position will perform research in QSP and teach classes in QSP at the graduate level. They may also teach undergraduate classes in related subjects. As Director of the QSP Program, the candidate will support program growth and development through innovative industry engagement and/or research.

This is an open-rank search targeted towards candidates with demonstrated leadership/administrative experience. Candidates from both academia and industry are encouraged to apply. This position will have primary workloads in teaching (e.g., 50%) and service (e.g., 40%), with additional workload in research (e.g., 10%). Ratios in each workload category are negotiable with the candidate and subject to change based on departmental needs. Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Geochemistry Newark, DE
The Department of Earth Sciences in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment at the University of Delaware invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Geochemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting in Fall 2026. We seek a motivated scientist who will establish a robust, externally funded research program, teach effectively across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, mentor graduate students, and contribute to a collaborative and interdisciplinary academic environment. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in stable isotope geochemistry, with applications in areas such as environmental geochemistry, critical minerals, carbon sequestration, and other emerging topics in geochemistry. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a closely related field, extensive experience operating mass spectrometers, and the ability to oversee and further develop our existing stable isotope facility.
