Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Geochemistry Newark, DE
The Department of Earth Sciences in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment at the University of Delaware invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Geochemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting in Fall 2026. We seek a motivated scientist who will establish a robust, externally funded research program, teach effectively across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, mentor graduate students, and contribute to a collaborative and interdisciplinary academic environment. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in stable isotope geochemistry, with applications in areas such as environmental geochemistry, critical minerals, carbon sequestration, and other emerging topics in geochemistry. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or a closely related field, extensive experience operating mass spectrometers, and the ability to oversee and further develop our existing stable isotope facility.

The Delaware Center for Cognitive Aging Research (DECCAR) at the University of Delaware is seeking a mid-level Biostatistician to support research focused on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders (ADRD). This position will play a key role in supporting the Delaware Longitudinal Study for Alzheimer’s Prevention (DeLSAP), as well as a newly funded grant from the NIH leveraging electronic health records to assess treatment strategies for hypertension in older adults with ADRD. The Analyst will contribute to generating databases from linked EHR and Medicare claims data and prospective cohort studies, conducting statistical analyses, and data management while collaborating with affiliated faculty on grant proposals, complex dataset planning, and statistical reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency with statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata) and database skills for manipulating research and clinical data, performing quality control checks, producing analytic datasets, and conducting statistical analyses in large databases (e.g., descriptive statistics, survival analysis, regression-based analyses). All work will require application of Good Clinical Data Management Practices (GCDMP). The candidate will regularly interact with senior biostatisticians within the College of Health Sciences (CHS) Biostatistics Core. This position plays a critical role in facilitating the success of a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment focused on brain health and aging at the University of Delaware. The Administrative Specialist will provide comprehensive administrative support for both Center and laboratory operations, including coordination and oversight of a diverse research portfolio funded by the NIH, private foundations, and philanthropic sources. Key responsibilities include managing budgets and project timelines, organizing meetings and events, maintaining records and communications, and serving as a liaison among faculty, staff, trainees, and external collaborators. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic setting. While a scientific background is not required, familiarity with research administration or health sciences environments is preferred.
