Temporary Assistant Professor or Instructor, Speech-Language Pathology, College of Arts and Sciences

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of Delaware invites applications for a temporary assistant professor or instructor to support the department's teaching and advising needs. The appointment is expected to begin on January 16, 2025, and will run until August 31, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of three years.  The primary responsibility of this position is to support the department’s undergraduate teaching needs in speech-language pathology.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach a minimum of three courses per semester from the following list: Introduction to Speech and Hearing Science; First Language Development; Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing; Introduction to Communication Disorders in Childhood; Introduction to Communication Disorders in Adulthood, and Clinical Principles and Procedures in Speech-Language Pathology. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and is also expected to contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within the department and the university. 

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science (https://www.lingcogsci.udel.edu) offers a PhD in Linguistics, a Master's degree in Linguistics and Cognitive Science, a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science that includes a track for Speech-Language Pathology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   The primary responsibility of the position is to teach, advise, and mentor at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree or a Ph.D. in speech-language pathology, or a related field, and is expected to contribute to the department’s goals in diversity, equity, and inclusion. A Ph.D. as well as clinical certification in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) and prior teaching experience are preferred.
