The School of Nursing in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware seeks an experienced, innovative and highly motivated certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner; a women’s health nurse practitioner/CNM; and a certified APRN for a 9-month, open track open appointment to join a faculty of nationally recognized leaders in education, research, advanced practice, and policy. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY includes teaching in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Faculty practice in the Nurse Managed Primary Care Center (NMPCC), part of UD Health, is encouraged as a key element of the position. Expectations for faculty include participation in scholarship and service activities. The School of Nursing emphasizes interdisciplinary and transitional research, interpersonal education and service to the community in an environment that supports diversity and inclusion. 


GENERAL INFORMATION: The School of Nursing ( is a thriving academic unit of over 40 faculty, approximately 775 undergraduate students and 125 graduate students. Recognized as a Center of Excellence by the National League of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the School offers innovative, dynamic pre-licensure baccalaureate (Traditional and Accelerated), RN to BSN, masters in healthcare leadership,  and post-master’s and post-baccalaureate doctoral programs, including the DNP and a PhD in Nursing Science, spanning face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online programs. The School of Nursing has a strong drive to continue growing its research program, in areas of aging, community engagement and health disparities, symptom science, and self-management. The School also houses the interdisciplinary Nurse Managed Primary Care Center (NMPCC), an innovative, evidence-based practice that provides prevention and wellness services, chronic disease management, mental health care, and Parkinson’s disease treatment to a diverse patient population. Qualifications include a PhD or DNP, with certification as an APRN highly desirable and a record of successful teaching experience in nursing programs preferred.

UD's College of Health Sciences (CHS)is an innovative, interdisciplinary college of more than 3,000 students and 150 faculty. CHS includes the School of Nursing and departments of Behavioral Health and Nutrition, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, Medical and Molecular Sciences, Physical Therapy and Epidemiology. CHS has teaching and research facilities throughout the campus, including the state-of-the-art UD Health Sciences Complex on the University’s Science Technology & Advanced Research (STAR) Campus.  The first UD Health building at STAR opened in January 2014 and the Tower at STAR opened in Fall 2018; providing 170,000 sq. ft. of research, meeting, collaboration and educational space. The Tower also includes virtual reality simulation space and an adaptive living apartment complete with sensor technology. The Tower’s state-of-the-art spaces promote inter-professional education and training as well as research leading to the development of new devices, techniques and interventions. The STAR Campus fosters connections to the community, linking the community to the inter-professional training of our students and collaborative research between faculty and clinicians.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  Compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
